The Dr. Nathie Lee Marbury Foundation is a charitable organization for Black Deaf women with multiple identities in the Black Deaf community. Its name is after our legacy, Dr. Nathie Lee Marbury, who loved storytelling, performing, and teaching sign language. Her extraordinary personality and professional accomplishments influenced many individuals to appreciate sign language. She was known for having a big heart for the deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing students, and she spent a lot of time helping many of them.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to create intersectional inclusivity and racial and gender equity. As organizers and advocates for justice, we will engage, inspire, and transform the educators of tomorrow. The five purposes are as follows:

1. Increasing marginalized women and girls' impact and potential through dismantling barriers in academia and business.

2. Bringing together influential women who want to do their best and work for justice and fairness.

3. Providing places to network, work together, learn, and take on leadership roles to help them reach their full potential in all walks of life.

4. Create a pipeline of women educators for the next generation of Black DeafBlind, Deaf Disabled, Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Late-Deafened children.

5. Serve as a coordinated coalition for new leadership projects that remove obstacles to women's progress while embracing intersectionality to reduce discrepancies.
